You’ve seen it. You’ve probably done it. And if you’re like me—you hate it with passion. But this behind-the-head triceps/chest stretch is crucial for recovery, posture, and keeping those pecs from turning into tight, immobile slabs of marble.

Here’s how I do it (as seen above, with a bit of sweat and a lot of internal screaming):

  • Reach one arm up and over your shoulder, bending the elbow so your hand drops between your shoulder blades.

  • With the opposite hand, gently pull the elbow back and slightly in.

  • You’ll feel a deep stretch in your chest, shoulder, and triceps—basically everywhere that just got torched in your workout.

  • Hold for 30 seconds per side, breathe into it, and try not to cuss out loud. Repeat 2–3 times.

This is the stretch that makes me question my life choices—but it also keeps my shoulders healthy, my chest mobile, and my upper body aesthetics balanced. So yeah, I do it. You should too.
