Beacon is glowing up harder than a pumpkin spice latte served with side-eye and a perfectly arched brow, and right in the middle of it all — boom — The Wild Kitchen + Bar lands on Main Street like it owns the place. And honestly? It kinda does.

By day, it’s a bright little wellness wonderland where you grab a bowl, sip on some elixir, and convince yourself you’re the main character in a Netflix series called Hudson Valley Chic. By night? Let’s just say I’ll be back to see how wild it really gets once the sun goes down (invite me here lol).

I went for the Upstream Bowl — think salmon lounging luxuriously on purple rice with cucumbers, edamame, scallions, ginger, radish, and all the sauces your gay little heart could want. It’s the kind of dish that screams: “I care about my body but also refuse to eat anything boring.” Paired it with the Lumen Tonic, which is basically cucumber, grapes, ginseng, ginger, lemon, and a halo. Yes, a halo. I felt healthier just holding it, like Gwyneth Paltrow was about to knight me with a jade egg.

For snacking, I couldn’t resist the olives (green, glossy, slutty) and the hummus with seed crackers (yes, seed crackers — insert your joke here). Crunchy, creamy, perfect, done.

The vibe? Wild in the best way. Warm pendant lighting glowing like a cozy queer bar, greenery everywhere, and in the back — wait for it — a mini public park. Yes, they literally gave Beacon a backyard. So while developers are busy squeezing in condos, The Wild said: “Here, sit down, breathe, touch some grass.” Iconic.

And let’s not forget — Beacon isn’t just about stuffing your face (though, hello, it’s a highlight). You’ve got Dia:Beacon turning everyone into an art critic for a day, indie boutiques where you’ll spend way too much on a candle, and now, The Wild keeping you fueled and fabulous.

So if you’re one of those NYC weekend warriors hopping off the Metro-North in your best linen set, add this to your itinerary. Trust me: nothing says “I’ve arrived” like sipping a tonic in Beacon while pretending you’re both enlightened and a little mysterious.

So go get wild — and for more Hudson Valley adventures, subscribe to the Hudson Valley Style Magazine newsletter where I serve up the very best restaurants in Beacon NY, Hudson Valley dining gems, Catskills foodie escapes, hospitality reviews, wellness travel guides, and my unapologetically gay take that travel is wellness, and wellness is emotional survival — because sometimes a bowl, a cocktail, or a cabin in the woods is the therapy we really need (read more about it here).
