I was so fortunate to collab on some amazing fashion photography project with perfume designer Kelly Jones who has been featured in the Hudson Valley Style Magazine just a couple months ago. Kelly Jones: Last March, my bags were packed for the Yucatán. A bottle of mezcal awaited along a perfumed trail, lush with ripened fruits and ancient Mayan medicinal leaves.
Then – the scent trek, and the world, went on hold. All of our senses were suddenly put to the test.
Nature was still open, so I wandered deep into the Catskill Mountains here at home. I discovered secret waterfalls and fauna that mirrored a parallel universe to the Mexican jungle.
As the waterfall mist touched my skin, I poured a glass of mezcal and listened to cascades hitting mossy rocks in an endless hymn. It was an incense of smoky agave spirits blended with Wet Stone, Violet Leaf, Fern and Birch.
It was Mezcal Verde.
