Amal Ishak – Queen of the Valley – Cover Story and Exclusive Interview by Miranda Weinberger

Amal: I am 35 and a mommy to 2 beautiful boys Christian & Noah, and I live and breath everything fashion. I am not really sure how it all it began… It feels like love of fashion was born with me LOL!

Miranda: That’s amazing! I can definitely relate to balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship! It’s obvious you have a passion for fashion. What about the fashion industry was most attractive to you?

Amal: The ability to reinvent yourself. Just like fashion, we humans, are constantly searching to reinvent ourselves.

Miranda: I love that! Being a small business owner in the Hudson Valley has got to be one of the most exceptional accomplishments! Since opening your boutique, what achievement are you most proud of?

Amal: When we won best current fashion for great value. I really work hard to carry the latest trends and offer a luxury service and feel without the price tag.

Miranda: The Hudson Valley is robust with breathtaking scenery and cultural diversity. Fashion trends, much like beauty trends, are often inspired by surrounding influence. How would you describe the trends for the 2020-2021 Winter season?

Amal: WOW!!! 2020 what a year in fashion! Since the trends of the winter season were introduced to us last February, it was up to us this year to interpret those trends into our new normal. This year, comfort took center stage. We are seeing leather, velvet, corduroy, quilt in easy, wearable day to day looks.

Miranda: I am so excited about that! What about yourself? How would you describe your personal style?

Amal: My personal style depends on my mood and how I am feeling that day (Why I love fashion so much). I love wearing a power suit in hot pink, and the next day, I will wear a pair of joggers with sneakers and an oversized t-shirt, but with killer accessories.

Miranda: Well, as a lover of all things fashion and beauty, I can definitely appreciate that! With everything there is to admire in the Hudson Valley, what do you enjoy the most?

Amal: I am so lucky to be here in the city of Newburgh. The views are incredible. The river, the mountains and to mention the amazing architect we have here.

Miranda: I personally love that regardless of the season there will always be plenty of activities to engage in. Because fashion trends change just as often, how do you keep consumers updated with all the new and amazing pieces in the boutique?

Amal: We are super active on our social media accounts. Both, our Instagram & Facebook. We post everyday (multiple posts a day) and showcase all of our new arrivals. From outfits, accessories to style inspiration posts. We are also very big on supporting other small businesses in the Hudson Valley and always show our love & support by tagging them in our posts.
