The NFT (non-fungible token) art world has been graced with the talents of Maxwell Alexander, an artist who has been creating captivating digital art through the use of non-fungible smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. While he’s had many successful token sales and NFT trades, there’s more to Maxwell than just his interesting background and his amazing artwork that takes inspiration from both anime and pop queer culture references, as well as real-life experiences such as making it in New York City as another immigrant from Russia.
What inspired Maxwell’s art?
I am inspired by all things bodybuilding, human sexuality, and its impact on gender identity. I also like to use social performance art as a way to discuss social issues that we may not be able to have open conversations about in our day-to-day lives. I also want to inspire other people to embrace their sexuality, make peace with it, and feel more liberated and free. – Maxwell Alexander
What’s the motivation behind his art?
With his work featuring elements of surrealism and abstract expressionism (think Magritte), it’s clear that Maxwell Alexander is motivated by sexually charged visual imagery. In addition to being a photographer, he’s also a painter; today in collaboration with Artificial Intelligence, his works of art are influenced by both of these mediums. Not only do you have to be artistic to create such scenes—you have to understand human sexuality and gender identity in order to reveal them through your art.
Who is Maxwell Alexander?
My work explores my own gender identity, sexuality, and spirituality. ― Maxwell Alexander
Maxwell lives in New York City’s suburbs and uses his art to explore his own struggles with gender identity and sexuality. A lot of artists take inspiration from their own lives or their surroundings—I don’t really have a choice on whether I put myself in my work because that’s where all of my art comes from. It would be very strange if I couldn’t tell people who made it. – Maxwell Alexander

Is Maxwell single?
If your answer is yes then you might want to think again before you follow Max on Instagram. Though he’s an incredibly talented artist, there are a lot of details about him that might surprise you and make him seem a little bit less romantic than his work makes him seem. He is a happily married entrepreneur with many more enterprises that serve as a testament and expression of his creativity.
