As a professional travel lifestyle photographer, I was recently tasked with capturing the modern rustic charm of an Airbnb Farmhouse experience by Alluvion Vacations in the Catskill Mountains. After a lengthy dusk photoshoot, my hubby Dino and I were exhausted and hungry, so we ventured down to Main Street in search of a satisfying meal and beer. That’s when we stumbled upon the Tavern on Main, a cozy little spot with a laid-back ambiance that immediately drew us in.

We decided to kick off our meal with some garlic parmesan wings, since it was Wednesday wings day. They were everything we could have hoped for – savory, juicy, and packed with flavor. We washed them down with a couple of cold beers – I had an Octoberfest, which was the perfect complement to the wings. Even though it was the dead of winter, the Octoberfest beer brought back memories of warmer days spent celebrating fall in the Hudson Valley. It had a rich, malty flavor that was perfect for the cold weather, and paired perfectly with the hearty wings.

But the real star of the show was the Tavern Burger. Flame grilled to perfection, with a house dry rub that added just the right amount of spice, and topped with grilled onions and a side of creamy beer cheese, this burger was a revelation. Served on a soft Jeff Bake Shop brioche bun and topped with a crispy slice of bacon, it was a true work of culinary art. As we savored every bite and sipped our beers, we couldn’t help but marvel at the beauty of our surroundings. The Catskill Mountains were a picturesque winter wonderland, and being able to enjoy such a delicious and rustic meal in the midst of such natural splendor was truly a treat.

We left the Tavern on Main feeling satisfied and content, already planning our next visit to this charming little spot. Despite our exhaustion from a long day of photography, the excellent food and inviting atmosphere of the Tavern on Main rejuvenated us and left us feeling grateful for the wonderful experiences that travel can bring. Whether we’re behind the lens or simply enjoying a meal, Dino and I are always on the lookout for authentic, local experiences that allow us to fully immerse ourselves in the culture and beauty of our surroundings. The Tavern on Main more than delivered on that front, and we can’t wait to go back and experience it all over again.
