Last week I had an opportunity to photograph and stay at the brand-new Hudson Valley Travel experience by Alluvion Vacations. It was a farmhouse tucked away at the end of a private drive in Jeffersonville, NY. As I approached the farmhouse, I was struck by the peaceful beauty of the surrounding landscape. The rolling hills were covered in a blanket of beautiful white snow, warm Edison bulbs were twinkling around the porch, and I couldn't help but feel like I was in a winter wonderland. As I got closer, I saw a bright red northern cardinal bird sitting on a tree next to the house, and I knew that this was going to be a magical stay.

Upon entering the farmhouse, I was immediately struck by the rustic charm that exuded from every corner. From the 80-year-old, original Chambers stove, to the colorful accents that added a touch of whimsy to the space, it was clear that this was a home filled with character. The open-concept living and dining area was perfect for gatherings with friends and family, and the wrap-around porch offered breathtaking views of the surrounding rolling hills covered in beautiful forests.
But it's not just the interior that impressed me. The house is nestled in ~3 acres of private woods, offering the perfect balance of privacy and connectivity. It sits at the end of a fruit tree grove and overlooks Lower Callicoon Creek, making it a peaceful escape from the city dynamic. As I settled in for the night, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience such a special place.
The next morning, I woke up to the tranquil sounds of the countryside and made myself a cup of coffee on the porch. As I sat there, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, I saw the bright red cardinal bird from the day before sitting on the same tree, almost as if it was saying hello. It was a moment of pure magic, and I knew that this was going to be a stay that I would never forget.
Overall, my stay at this charming farmhouse in the Catskill Mountains was truly unforgettable. From the rustic charm and modern flair of the interior to the peaceful beauty of the surroundings, every moment was filled with magic.
