Dining with Style at The Dining Room at Urban Cowboy Lodge – Restaurant Review

It’s no secret that I’ve long been obsessed with the Urban Cowboy Lodge’s authentic luxury experience (if you’re curious about my previous swoon-worthy stay, check out my full photo story here). But on this particular trip, it wasn’t just the luxurious hospitality and jaw-dropping Catskills views that got me gushing—it was dinner at The Dining Room at The Urban Cowboy Lodge that truly stole my heart.

Let me start with the star of the evening: their famous Long Island duck breast, which, honey, was nothing short of a rustic fantasy on a plate. This wasn’t your grandma’s Sunday roast—oh no, this was tender, flavorful duck paired with a spiced arrope (that’s Spanish for “magical sauce,” right?), roasted romanesco, and hazelnuts. The flavors danced together in a woodsy, earthy, comforting way, like a well-rehearsed Broadway musical number. Can I get a standing ovation for this dish?!

Now, let’s talk about the drink that had me absolutely shook. After devouring that gorgeous duck, I couldn’t resist the Grasshopper cocktail. Picture this: a visually stunning green creation that was basically dessert in a glass. A luscious blend of cacao, crème de menthe, and cream, the Grasshopper had me feeling both chic and nostalgic. It was so good, I wanted to channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw and declare, “I couldn’t help but wonder… why isn’t everyone drinking this?”

But the night wasn’t over, darlings! After my meal, I floated into the Lodge’s lounge, which, of course, features a cozy fireplace that invites you to sip and savor. And sip I did—because when you’re in the hands of world-class mixologists, you don’t just stop at one cocktail. I lost count of how many I had (don’t judge!), but let’s just say each one had a perfect balance of flavors, creativity, and a pinch of Catskills magic.

Here’s the thing: The Urban Cowboy Lodge is always about combining luxury and authenticity (two things I can’t get enough of), and The Dining Room brings that philosophy straight to your tastebuds. It’s that perfect blend of rustic charm and culinary prowess, topped off with a dash of humor and a sprinkle of extravagance.

So, if you’re in the Catskills and looking for a dining experience that’s just as over-the-top fabulous as your outfit, this is the place. And after a night of culinary indulgence, I highly recommend sinking into one of their suites with a cocktail in hand—because at the Urban Cowboy, darling, the magic never stops.
