Newburgh, NY never disappoints when it comes to surprising us all with brand new venues and experiences popping up seem like every other day or so.
Friday Lunch at Silk Factory Cafe in Newburgh, NY turned into Funkin’ Fridays show – Exploring Hudson Valley with Maxwell Alexander
The Silk Factory Cafe specializes in locally sourced ingredients and fresh baked goods, and it’s one of my favorite places to visit when I need to get away from city life. In addition to their breakfast and lunch items, they also offer a full bar with creatively designed flights of mimosas and bloody marys, which makes it an ideal weekend destination no matter what time of year you decide to travel to the Hudson Valley.
The Silk Factory is an inviting coffee shop on the first floor of the former Silk Factory building (now Hudson Valley Arts Live venue), where you can enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee, lattes, espresso, cappuccinos, tea and just about anything else you may be in the mood for. In addition to caffeine and cold drinks, they also serve fresh pastries and have small bites such as local bagels. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to go with friends or to sit alone with your thoughts. The modern rustic interior is comprised of a carefully curated collection of art, furniture, and artifacts that create perfect instagramable moments everywhere you turn your camera, for all of you influensTers out there.
The staff is super friendly and willing to help. The location is quiet, scenic, and perfect for a weekend getaway from NYC. In addition to its unique decor, Silk Factory Cafe serves some absolutely delicious food. I highly recommend you try their Avocado Toast; which turned out unlike any other I’ve had (in a good way!). My meal was perfect—very fresh and full of flavor.
Reasons why you should visit Silk Factory Cafe
Just a few blocks away from Newburgh Waterfront with its breathtaking views of the Hudson River and Hudson Highlands right in the middle of the scenic Hudson Valley region, The Silk Factory Café offers a fantastic breakfast/lunch/brunch experience on your weekend getaway with family, friends, or just for yourself.
Hudson Valley Arts Live and Funkin’ Fridays
Now that you know how to locate Silk Factory during the day, consider coming back for one of their live events produced by the Hudson Valley Arts Live. We were fortunate to watch the Funk Junkies band perform live during their Funkin’ Fridays show and were blown away by the energy and the amazing vibe.
