Rip Van Winkle Restaurant and Brewery in Catskill, NY is a must-visit destination for craft beer lovers. The Catskill Mountain Pale Ale is a refreshing and bright West Coast-style pale ale. Dry-hopped with Idaho7, Cascade Cryo, and Cashmere hops, it features notes of citrus and fresh fruit, as well as a hint of pine. It’s the perfect choice for a warm weather day.
The IAO Bella Italian Pilsner is a tribute to the late Tony LoBianco, one of the founders of Rip Van Winkle Restaurant and Brewery. This hoppy, unfiltered lager is clean and crisp, with a semi-sweet finish. Dry-hopped with Hull Melon and Hallertau Blanc, it has flavors of melon, lemongrass, and white grape. It’s a great choice for anyone who enjoys a hoppier beer.
The KaaterskillKrush N.E. IPA is a juicy and flavorful IPA brewed with rolled oats and malted wheat for a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel. Dry-hopped with Mosaic and Citra hops, it has tropical fruit flavors of pineapple and mango, as well as notes of citrus and a slight bitterness to finish. It’s a must-try for fans of IPA.
In addition to the fantastic beers, I also had the chance to try the Grilled Chicken Rustico sandwich from the restaurant’s menu. This delicious sandwich features grilled chicken, red onion, tomato, spinach, provolone, and pesto mayo on fried dough. It was a tasty and satisfying meal that paired well with the beers.
