Springtime Delights at County Fare: A Farm-to-Table Gem in Wappingers Falls, NY

As springtime blossoms in the Hudson Valley, the verdant landscapes and charming towns come alive with renewed energy. This enchanting season is the perfect time to explore the region's farm-to-table ethos, a culinary movement that celebrates the connection between the land and the plate. With an abundance of amazing restaurants dotted throughout the area, my husband and I found ourselves drawn to a local gem in Wappingers Falls called the County Fare Bar & Grill.

Our brunch began with a toast to the season, each of us selecting a signature cocktail from their intriguing menu. I opted for the Espresso Martini, a rich and velvety blend of Tito's Vodka, Kahlua, espresso, and cream, garnished with a subtle hint of vanilla. The balance between the bitter notes of the espresso and the sweet, smooth cream created a sophisticated symphony of flavors, while the vodka added a pleasant warmth.

My husband chose the Tequila Smash, County Fare's playful take on a classic margarita. This vibrant cocktail featured a fusion of mango and premium tequila, which harmonized beautifully to create a refreshing and slightly tangy libation. The burst of tropical fruitiness elevated the drink, making it a delightful twist on a beloved classic.

To whet our appetites, we shared an order of fried dumplings. These bite-sized morsels were encased in a crisp, golden shell that yielded a succulent, tender filling. The accompanying sour cream added a creamy touch, rounding out the dish and leaving us eager for our main course.

The star of our meal was undoubtedly the County Fare Burgers accompanied by local craft beer. This mouthwatering creation boasted not one, but two perfectly grilled patties, imbued with an intense, smoky flavor that permeated each bite. The rich, melted cheese melded with the meat, enhances the burger's overall succulence. An added layer of onion crunch, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomatoes provided a delightful contrast in both texture and taste. The burger was complemented by a generous helping of delicious fries and a crunchy pickle, resulting in a meal that was nothing short of exquisite.
