Cold Spring, NY, located in the heart of the Hudson River Valley, has long been recognized as one of the most charming towns in New York State. One of the things that makes it so charming is its wide variety of excellent restaurants and other dining establishments, ranging from French to Thai to American to Ethiopian. In this article, we’ll take a look at five of Cold Spring’s best restaurants and help you decide which one best fits your taste buds.
Riverview – Wood-fired pizzas, pastas & seafood in a casual-but-refined riverside venue with views & a patio.
Outdoor seating on a deck that overlooks the waterfront is excellent. Pizzas are very good, but you’re here for one of their signature entrees: grilled salmon with grapes & garlic over polenta (also available in an appetizer version), or maybe a delicious seafood risotto with king crab and mussels. Beer list is great & varied; wine list is sweet and short but has some winners. are worth a try if you’re feeling indulgent.
The decor is rustic and historic. The food is fantastic! Breakfast is served all day on weekends. Breakfast staples are served every day at reasonable prices. Waffles with bacon are a favorite of mine. Great place to stop if you’re traveling through town or live there! The very warm and inviting staff as well. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for good food at affordable prices!
Le Bouchon – Charming bistro serving French classics like cassoulet in a cozy, red-hued room or garden setting.
Le Bouchon’s casual bistro setting and affordable French favorites make it a great choice for date night. While comfort food dishes like cassoulet and steak frites are big draws, vegetarians will appreciate chef Laurent Rohatgi’s inventive cassoulet made with tofu instead of meat. And don’t miss decadent desserts like chocolate ganache mousse cake or profiteroles—the restaurant is located near scenic hiking trails where guests can burn off extra calories. Hudson Hil’s Café – Cheerful chef-owned bistro featuring American fare from locally raised ingredients.
Warm and inviting café that serves home-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast includes yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit cups, and more hearty options like eggs benedict with goat cheese. Lunch and dinner include delicious salads such as a raw vegetable selection. Entrees include seafood selections such as seared Mahi Mahi or homemade vegetarian chili. This is definitely one of our favorite places to stop by after a long day of hiking through Hyde Park or sampling wine at nearby vineyards!
Moo Moo’s Creamery – The World’s Best Ice Cream Shop
Moo Moo’s Creamery is a local family owned ice cream shop that features homemade ice cream made from farm fresh milk. They offer over 20 flavors of creamy goodness to choose from. However, you should really save room for their homemade soft serve…it’s out of control. You will not be disappointed with any flavor you try at Moo Moo’s Creamery!
