Hudson-based designer Stephanie Reppas creates inspired décor using unique sustainable materials found around New York. She travels frequently in search of unusual objects to use in her work: equestrian tack, Barbicide jars, emu eggs, microscope slides, farm equipment and more. The items she salvages are always interesting but have been overlooked and under-loved. In a world overrun with cheap, mass-produced plastic, this wonderful old craftsmanship, which has often lasted a century or more, deserves to be seen and reused, not just tossed and forgotten. So she’s doing her small part to help the environment while also fostering an appreciation for an era gone by.
