Starting from the beginning, this project was raw, literally! My client called for guidance in November 2018, as their home was in the beginning framing stage. The new build was large and expansive and it was an exciting starting point. Working with a home from the inception is exhilarating. Nothing compares to watching the structure transform into a home!
The first pressing matter was selecting finishes for the home. The clients were feeling overwhelmed at the thought of the rooms. After our initial meeting, we scheduled an appointment and met at Herzog’s Home Center to begin selecting and finalizing the spaces. We needed to tackle the flooring, tile for the kitchen and four bathrooms, as well as selecting the cabinet finishes for all of those spaces. As the contractor continued to work on the home, Jennifer Lynn Interiors selected the paint color and finishes for the whole home.
To ensure we remained on the client’s move in the schedule, we began to select window treatments for the main living space and one bedroom, furniture and accessories. The client’s goal was to create a cozy, modern farmhouse style that incorporates a little Texas flair. The home is equipped for the 21st century with all the amenities. All the appliances are energy efficient as well as armed with smart home devices to provide ease and efficiency.
In brief, the client’s decision to have JLI guide, consult and select materials helped to keep to their schedule. Completing the project with new window treatments, furniture and accessories secured the project to feel finalized upon moving into their new home. What a marvelous, modern farmhouse!
